We live in a world corrupted by sin. Sin lingers on nearly every corner. We hustle and we grind, seeking temporary money to buy worldly goods. We cry and beg, calling out to God to send us a mate.
So easily we forget, God seeks us. God seeks eternal goodness for us, not effervescent lust, not to idolize or obsess over each other… God doesn’t want us to misplace our attention on entertainment, numbing the feelings of inadequacy, inaction, inability…
God seeks eternal goodness for us.
In this world, it’s easy to forget, & it’s even easier to distract yourself- numb yourself, with substances, entertainment, thoughts of comparison, or feelings of superiority.
The spiritual battlefield cannot be escaped behind closed doors, or under the cover of darkness.
You can sin without going out to the bar, without spewing anger or hatred at another. No, it’s more covert than that, sin corrupts the heart, & it can happen in the blink of an eye.
That’s why vigilance is so important. Keeping your heart focused on God…Reading the word of God is so important. Sin has corrupted our world, to the point where you can’t trust it for answers. You can’t seek it for answers.
Only God can give you what you need, what you yearn for. Only God’s love can fill you up forever.
