My Mother’s Love - A Poem

Writer's picture: Abby BlueAbby Blue

My mother’s love,

is a joke that makes me spew lemonade out of my nose in laughter.

My mother’s love,

is a kiss on my forehead.

My mother’s love,

is a handwritten note tucked in my lunchpail, cut into the shape of a heart.

My mother’s love,

is a table of presents on my birthday, and a card that glistens my eyes with love.

My mother’s love,

is holiday traditions.

My mother’s love is a celebration.

My mother’s love,

is a prayer before a home cooked meal.

My mother’s love,

is a look of adoration.

My mother’s love,

is a pitcher of sun tea, brewing all afternoon on a summer’s day, sweetened with honey.

My mother’s love,

is 12 hugs goodbye, or rather, see you later.

My mother’s love,

is inviting everyone, because the more, the merrier.

My mother’s love,

is a roadtrip down the coast of California.

My mother’s love,

is “I got your favorite flowers just because.”

My mother’s love,

is a call to see how my friends are doing.

My mother’s love,

is a call to remind me of a loved one’s birthday.

My mother’s love,

is an invitation home.

My mother’s love,

is my favorite love.

I love you Mama 🤎
