Often, my mind lingers.
Searching for a feeling, a sense of being from long ago.
My essence floating, seemingly elsewhere, anywhere but here.
Searching for a feeling, a warm hug in the arms of a friend held dear.
My thoughts collapse in on one another.
Being. Feeling. Emotions. Chemicals. A full breath. An urge for love and belonging permeates all of this.
Searching for a feeling, I look to find a world fragmented. Beings separated by invisible barriers- dogma piercing cold hearts, shattering an opportunity for connection with someone who looks 'different' from you on the surface. Masks that keep us cornered & hidden from our Universal truth.
My mask is so heavy. I cannot go on, shielding my heart feels like a room shut tight, stale air sitting suspended, the air particles too afraid to move.
Searching for a feeling, I turn to artists. Maybe their journey can guide me home.
Searching for a feeling, I hold my breath. Afraid to share my art. Cold tears fall like pinpricks down my cheeks.
Searching for a feeling, I watch communities being torn down. Somewhere, there are men searching for a feeling of freedom, turning to violence & the world seems dark again.
I am so tired. I must lie here and rest. The moon illuminates the sky around me.
Searching for a feeling, I hold onto hope.
We create our world with every action that we take. Searching for a feeling, I picture children playing, laughing, exploring this green Earth with their toes in the mud and the wild breeze through their hair.
Laughter travels through the wind, through space and time. For once, we were all just little ones. Innocent. Wildly curious about the world around us.
Searching for a feeling, I find home in this longing. This vision guides me. To create where I want to be. To truly be where I am now.
Searching for a feeling, I come home to myself now. Today, tomorrow, forever.
Searching for a feeling, I pray to God. And I find peace in knowing that heaven on Earth is yet to come, & I hold all of my power to help this reality come true.
Searching for a feeling, I must be the same as you.
